November 25, 2014

180It was just 10 minutes but we packed a lot in — great interview with Paul Kuharsky, Chad Withrow, and Jonathan Hutton from the Midday 180 show on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville. We discussed Perry Wallace’s role in the banning of the slam dunk, his controversial exit from Nashville in 1970, and his return to town next week for a series of events to promote Strong Inside. • “In a magnificently reported, nuanced
but raw account of basketball and racism in the South during the 1960s, Andrew Maraniss tells the story of Perry Wallace’s struggle, loneliness, perseverance and eventual self-realization. A rare story about physical and intellectual courage that is both shocking and triumphant. ”

Bob Woodward, Washington Post associate editor and author
